Helicopter joins Field Day

Boothbay Region High School teacher Dennis Dacus, a 16-year veteran of the Maine Army National Guard, arranged to have an Army National Guard Black Hawk helicopter join the BRHS Field Day on Monday, June 3.

According to Dacus, “The Army National Guard Recruiting office in Augusta assisted with all of the Field Day events yesterday, as they did last year ... my son is currently on active duty with the Maine Army National Guard. When I contacted the Recruiting Office in Augusta a few months ago, to see if they would help with our Field Day again this year, and at the suggestion of my son, I asked if they could arrange a Army National Guard Black Hawk to land and be part of our BRHS Field Day. The request was granted and the ‘bird’ was part of our Field Day.”
